Q: Do You Offer Gift Certificates?
A: Yes! Gift certificates to The Chef & His Wife have become a very popular
gift in Western NC. Gift certificates are available on premises, or by calling
(828) 369-0575 with your MC/Visa ready, during our regular business hours.

Q: Which days are you open / What are your hours?
A: We are open for lunch Monday thru Friday - year round.
We are open for dinner 5 nights per week, Tuesday thru Saturday.
We are closed Sundays and Holidays.
Lunch is served Mon-Fri from 11:00am - 2:30pm EST
Our Early Bird Dinner Menu is served from 5:00 - 5:30pm
Regular Dinner seating from 5:30 - 9:00pm.
Open year-round.

Q: Do you take reservations?
A; We do not take reservations for lunch - guests are seated on a
'first-come-first-served' basis, once their entire party has arrived.
Reservations for dinner are taken for parties of 4 or more.

Q: Which forms of payment do you accept?
A: We accept MC/Visa, personal checks, traveler's checks, and cash.

Q: Do you offer a "To Go" menu?
A: Our entire menu is available “To Go”! You may place your order in advance
by calling us at (828) 369-0575 or order at the hostess station upon arrival.

Q: Is smoking allowed in your restaurant?
A: No, we offer our Guests a non-smoking environment in which to enjoy their meals.

Q: What is "Pickin' on the Square" and are you open during the event?
A: "Pickin' on the Square" is an event sponsored by the Franklin Chamber of Commerce
each Saturday night during the summer months. Featuring country, bluegrass and gospel music performed by local bands,
it is a fun and wholesome environment for all ages. Although the street immediately in front of the restaurant is closed
off for the event, we are open for business. Our guests may park in the courthouse parking lot immediately behind the restaurant.

Q: What are your specials?
A: We offer daily & nightly specials for lunch and dinner and Chef Mark's
famous weekend dinner specials. However, we feel meal specials should be just
that - special. With the exception of weekend specials which are published in
The Macon County News, they are not planned well in advance. Rather, our daily
and nightly specials are at the fancy of Chef Mark at dinner, and Jamee at
lunchtime. Please call us at (828) 369-0575 for details on today's special.

Q: Can you prepare a meal for someone with a special dietary concern or food
allergy?
A: When placing your order, simply inform your server of your special
request; We will do our absolute best to accommodate any special dietary
requirements that our guests may have. As none of our meals are precooked, it is
typically not a problem to prepare your meal around a dietary requirement or
food allergy.

Q: Do you offer Vegetarian items on your menu?
A: We are pleased to offer a selection of vegetarian items on our menu,
including a large selection of salads, black bean burgers, portobella mushroom
dishes and vegetable pastas.

Q: Is there anything on the menu for children?
A: Sure! We offer a number of children's menu items at dinnertime, named
after our own kids - including chicken pasta, shrimp and hot dogs.

Q: Will you share your recipe with me?
A: We receive many requests for our delicious menu recipes, but
unfortunately, we do not share them outside of our own kitchen - we hope you'll
understand. We may someday publish a cookbook featuring some of our recipes, but
in the meantime, please savor the memory of your meal with our most sincere
gratitude, and come see us again soon!

Q: How's your pricing?
A: We proudly offer our guests an outstanding variety of menu choices, the
highest quality food & service, and very generous portions, all at a great
value. Our lunches start at just $4.99, Early Bird meals are $10.99, and our
fabulous dinners start at $13.99.

Q: Do you have a dress code?
A: The Chef & His Wife is an intimate, yet casual dining restaurant, so
please dress in a manner that is comfortable for you! We ask only that everyone
wear shoes, and that gentlemen do not wear sleeveless
shirts.

Q: Does your waitstaff sing to guests at birthday or anniversary
celebrations?
A: The Chef and His Wife is the perfect place to celebrate birthdays,
anniversaries and other special occasions, but alas, we are all 'vocally
challenged"! Just let us know in advance or inform your server what type of
special occasion is being celebrated, and at the end of your meal, the special
guest will be surprised with a complimentary dessert - quietly!!

Q: How large a party are you able to seat?
A: Our maximum seating capacity allows for 56 guests; our floor plan allows
us to seat parties of up to 14 at a single table.

Q: Do you offer advertising opportunities on your menu?
A: We do not accept advertisements of any type on our Guest's menus. No other
corporate advertising is permitted within our establishment, with the exception
of those business' owned by our immediate family.

Q: Who decorated the restaurant / did your restaurant's décor?
A: We consider restaurant décor a critical part of the whole dining
experience. The French bistro theme found throughout the Chef & His Wife's
restaurant is our unique interpretation - Mark and Jamee's vision
of what a bistro in the mountains should be.

Q: May I contact the Chef & His Wife for Charitable Donations?
A: Thank you for considering The Chef and His Wife for your organization's
charitable donation. We are proud to support our local community. Please contact

request, but please note that The Chef and His Wife does not make cash donations
nor sponsor events, and due to the large number of charitable requests we
receive, we unfortunately cannot fulfill each and every need.
